What if the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy met?

Here comes Peter Cottontail - allposters.com
"Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity, happy Easter day"

 - remember that song?  I love to sing it to my little girls.
The Tooth Fairy - thesilverpenny.homestead.com
So this week Mitten 1 had her very first loose tooth.  Thankfully it fell out tonight.  How were we going to have both the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy coming on the same night?  I explained to my daughter that they do know each other and that they are friends........but really it just would have been too much excitement for this household in one night...........When I was little you got 20 cents.  Today the going rate is a gold coin I believe!  My how things have changed.............

Yummy Easter Treats

Easter Bunny Cupcakes made by Helen
Today Mitten 1 and I caught up with the Mums from Kindy in the park for a playdate. It was lovely to see the girls again and have a good ol' gas bag.  Thank you Lana for organizing such a fun time.  Check out these bunny cupcakes made by Helen.  Have you ever seen anything so cute in all your life?
Easter Pavlova made by Nikita
The other night we had our friends - the wonderful BJ, Cam, Kita & Ben over for dinner.  Kita is only 11 years old and look at this magnificent pavlova that she whipped up all by herself!!??  At her age I am sure I could only make vegemite sandwiches.  Talk about being impressed by my friends wonderful culinary skills..............

It's beginning to feel a lot like Easter

Chocolate Egg - Martha Stewart

Paper Easter Bunny Favor Bags and Cake Toppers - Martha Stewart

Eggshell Votives - Martha Stewart
I really like this idea for lighting up the table setting.  - Who would have thought to use real egg shells?

Basket of Bunny Cupcakes - Martha Stewart
I found these images in the 'Easter Table Craft and Favors" section of the Martha Stewart website.  I hope they inspire you to create a pretty easter celebration with your friends and family.  This Friday we are going to be with friends for lunch - I will be organizing an Easter egg hunt for all the children.  It will be so much fun.

Mitten 1 - easter bonnet parade

Mitten 2 - easter bonnet parade
These are our first ever attempts at making Easter bonnets!  We used foam, stickers, ribbons, pom poms, pipe cleaners and little chicks.  I had no idea how to make a hat so I kind of did a crown kind of thing.  We had expert help from the gorgeous 10 year old Miss B next door.  Thanks sweetheart.   I think my girls looked gorgeous!  I must say the effort put in by all of the parents was outstanding - such amazing creations and details. Have you done your bunny shopping yet?..........

Ben Quilty wins Archibald Prize

Artists Ben Quilty and Margaret Olley

portrait of Margaret Olley by Ben Quilty
As you know I am a huge fan of Ben Quilty's work and was thrilled when he won this year's Archibald Prize.  I believe he is one of Australia's greatest artists.  I so want to own one of his works now more than ever.  Am so excited for him - his future is bright.

Yering Farm Wines

This winery was established back in the 1800's by the Deschamps family.
I love that it has rustic touches at every turn.

my kind of cork board

You could really lose an afternoon here.  This boutique winery has a truly Australian feel.  Gorgeous location.  Perfect view. Put your feet up and enjoy some of their glorious pinot noir with friends.

Domaine Chandon

Domaine Chandon
It doesn't get much better than this.  As part of the 40th birthday celebrations we were whisked away by bus to the Yarra Valley on a wine tour.  How fabulous is that?

Pop!
First stop Domaine Chandon.  What a gorgeous place.

Ready to go
Did you know that it was a woman who worked out how to create champagne?
Her name - Madame Barbe-Nicole Clicquot - better known as Veuve Clicquot.
Fascinating stuff.  No wonder we girls love our champagne.

oooohh goody!

J'adore Melbourne

The Como, South Yarra Melbourne
I love Melbourne.  Just recently we went down for the weekend to celebrate the Divine Miss M's 40th birthday.  We stayed at the Como which just so happens to be the ideal location if you like the shopping on Chapel Street......... and what girl doesn't??

Alannah Hill
I did some damage at Alannah Hill.  I really love her. I think she is a fantastic lady and a brilliant Australian Designer - probably one of my favourites.  I don't know whether I could do her look from head to toe, but do like to mix it in with classic and more tailored pieces in the wardrobe.

Alannah Hill black heart belt
This belt had to come home with me.  Isn't it just divine.  I can see it whipping in my waist with a jacket and dark denim and a crisp white shirt.  Love it!!!!!!!!!!

Alannah Hill bow hairclips
These little black sparkly clips are exquisite.  An understated shot of glamour for your hair.  There was so much more that I wanted, cardys, frocks, shoes, coats...........  Alannah, another visit soon is a must........
